For this case we have an isosceles triangle, that is, it has two equal sides and a different one. If we look at the figure, the equal sides are the segment xy and the segment yz, also the angle x is equal to the angle z.


On the other hand, we know that the internal sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.


So:



x + y + z = 180

Knowing that
y = 52 and
x = z


x + 52 + x = 180\\2x + 52 = 180\\2x = 180-52\\2x = 128\\x = \frac {128} {2}\\x = 64

Thus, the angle x is 64 degrees.
