They literally gave you the answer but okay.

Correct answer should be: B. 490 Meters

1/2 x 9.8 x 10^2

Plug them in a calculator and you get 490 meters.

G = Gravity which is 9.8 m/s^2

T= Time

Answer: B

Step-by-step explanation:

NOTES:

g = -9.8 meters/second²

t = 10 seconds

**********************************

d = (1/2) g t²

= (1/2) (-9.8 meters/second²)(10 seconds)²

= (1/2) (-9.8 meters/second²)(100 seconds²)

= (1/2) (-980 meters)

= -490 meters The negative sign means lowered or "dropped"
