If you are referring to the letter from the "dust bowl" then Grace takes its all very well. She's optimistic, takes advantage of lulls (calm) in the action, and she helps her family the best she can. I'd say she's a trooper!

Grace’s attitude in “The letter from the Dust Bowl survivor” is a positive and enduring one despite the excessive amount of dust the environment was exposed to for over a week: whenever the door was opened, whirlwinds of dust beat everyone in the house, but after closing the door, they would sit happily inside the house even though they choked because of the dust and dirt; Grace felt funny after going out and coming back home without being able to see the outline of the house. Generally, Grace saw the positive side of each experience related to the dust.
