Which outcome of the reconstruction most likely appealed to both southern blacks and whites?
- After the war, black and white teachers from the North and South, missionary organizations, churches and schools worked hand in hand to teach recently freed men. This was the great opportunity for black men of all ages to be educated. After the war, freed men became learners, every person a teacher, everywhere a school. It was so clear for some emancipated people that the real emancipation came after being properly educated, that is why, for both black and white people, it was so clear that education would set them free. What the civil war really did, was to bash aside the stones that were not letting them to do it.
