The area of the shape is 396 cm²

To determine the area of the shape, we have to know that the formula for calculating the area of a rectangle is expressed as;

A = lw

Such that the parameters are;

  • A is the area of the rectangle
  • l is the length of the rectangle
  • w is the width of the rectangle

Now, substitute the values, we get;

Area = 27(10)

multiply the values, we get;

Area = 270cm²

For the second rectangle, we have;

Area = 14(9)

multiply the values, we have;

Area = 126 cm²

Add the values of the area, we have;

Total area = 126 + 270

Total area = 396 cm²
