Hello there! Your answer would be: She needs to borrow 1
(1)/(8) cups.

We first need to find how much she needs, & subtract it how much she has.

Okay, so we need to start by multiplying both sides of 3/4

(3)/(4) × 3 =
(9)/(4)

Next, convert 4ths to 8ths by multiplying the denominator and numerator by
(2)/(2).

(9)/(4) ×
(2)/(2) =
(18)/(8)

Now that we have that, let's convert what she has, 1
(1)/(8) cups into a mixed fraction to make the subtraction easier.

Well, there's 1 whole and 1 leftover, so we are left with
(18)/(8).

So, now we subtract
(9)/(8) from
(18)/(8).

(18)/(8) -
(9)/(8) =
(9)/(8).

Converting back into a mixed number, we get 1
(1)/(8) cups left over, or, the amount that she needs to borrow. I hope this helps, and have a great rest of your day! <3
