Answer:

Mass = 14.025 g

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

Mass of Ca burn = 10 g

Mass of calcium oxide produced = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

2Ca + O₂ → 2CaO

Number of moles of Ca:

Number of moles = mass /molar mass

Number of moles = 10 g/ 40 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.25 mol

now we will compare the moles of Ca and CaO

Ca : CaO

2 : 2

0.25 : 0.25

Mass of CaO;

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass = 0.25 mol × 56.1 g/mol

Mass = 14.025 g
