Ok so this is a problem on my homework and I’m still confused.

The ratio of North American butterflies to South American butterflies at a butterfly park is 5:3. The ratio of South American butterflies to European butterflies is 3:2. There are 30 North American butterflies at the butterfly park.

A. How many South American butter flies are there?
B: How many European butterflies are there?

Set up the ratio for N.A butterflies to S.A butterflies: 5/3=30/x. Solving for x, you get that there are 18 S.A butterflies.

Set up the equation 3/2=30/x. Solving for x, you get that there are 20 European butterflies.
