The Chin Dynasty is divided into two periods, the Western (from about 2200 to 2000 years ago) and the Eastern (from about 2000 to 1800 years ago). The Western period was ruled by the usurper Wang Mang, which made reforms that caused people to rebel and ultimately killed him. After this event Han Dinastry went back to power establishing a period of relative peace.
