Nobody likes to peel for granny famous mashed taters. However someone has to do it! Granny puts 8 blocks in a bag.4 red, 3 green and 1 yellow. She makes all the grandchildren pick a block. If you pick green -you are a potatoe peeler. You pick first. What is the probability you will pick a green block?

Answer: 3/8 , 37.5% , 0.375

Step-by-step explanation: 3 out of 8 of the blocks are green, so the chance you'll choose a green block is 3/8, 37.5% or 0.375.

ANSWER

P(G)= (3)/(8)

Step-by-step explanation

The probability of picking a green block is the number of green balls expressed over the total number of blocks.

The number of green blocks is

n(G) = 3

The total number of blocks in the sample space is

n(S) = 4 + 3 + 1 = 8

The probability of picking a green block is

P(G) = (n(G))/(n(S))

P(G)= (3)/(8)
