Answer:

The statement in the question could be interpreted as a religous view of life. According to most religions, including Christianity, sanctity of life is a sacred mandate because life is given by a divine force, in other words, God.

For this reason, life itself matters more than the other aspects related to life, like the quality of it. From this point of view, arguments against any act that violates life, like euthanasia or abortion, can be made, under a religious subjective experience.
