To solve this problem correctly you need to use the order of operations (Parenthesis, Exponents, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction). Luckily there are no Parenthesis or Exponents so the next thing is Division and Multiplication. There is no Division but there is Multiplication (2 * 2), which is 4. So after multiplying you'll have 2 - 4 + 2. Now, when you have Addition and Subtraction all you need to do is solve the problem from left to right. First subtract 2 - 4, the answer is -2, finally just add 2 and your answer will be 0. The answer to 2 - 2 * 2 + 2 is 0.
