Okay

Assuming you know quadratic formula it would be

-4+/- square root 4^2 -4(2)(-3)
Divided by 2(2)

So
First we’ll do whatever is under the square root

4x4= 12
-4(2)(-3) = 24

so 12+24= 36

36 square root is 6

So 4+/- 6
Divided by 4

So

4+(-6)= -2
4-(-6)= -10

-2 divided by 4 = -0.5
-10 divided by 4 = -5

An easy way to remember this is label your numbers Ax^2+Bx+C

Or it’s much easier to use completing the perfect square.
