Answer:

We know from question that:

3/4 * volume - 1/3 * volume = 2500 Solving this equation for volume gives: Volume * ( 3/4 - 1/3 ) = 2500 Volume * ( 9/12 - 4/12) = 2500 Volume *

5/12 = 2500 Volume = 2500 / ( 5/12) Volume = 2500 * 12 / 5 = 500 * 12 = 6000 gallons.

Hope this helps!!

Answer:6000

Step-by-step explanation:3 quarters is equal to 9/12. And 1/3 is equal to 4/12

If it is 9/12 full and 2500 gallons are drained then there are 4/3 left

9/12 - 4/3 is equal to 5/12.

Thta means 2500 gallons is 5/12 of the whole container

5/12 divided by 5 is 1/12

And 2500 divided by 5 is 500

That means every 1/12 of the container can fill 500 gallons

Do then 500 times 12 is 6000

Sorry I am really bad at explaining
