3 1/8 cups of trail mix
Add the 1 3/8 cups of walnuts to the 1 3/4 cups of raisins. You will have to make your denominators the same to add the fraction.
1 3/8. 1 3/8
+1 3/4. 3 x 2 = 6. +1 6/8
_____ 4 x 2 = 8. ______
2 9/8 reduce 3 1/8
