Answer:

240

Explanation:

Givens

T = Texas

M = Mexican

Total Soldiers = TS = 600

T:m = 7:3

T:TS = 7:10

Solution

T:TS = x:600

T:TS = 7:10 = x:600

7:10 = x:600 Cross Multiply

7 * 600 = 10x

4200 = 10*x

4200/10 = x

x = 420

Therefore the number of Mexican soldiers in the battle was 600 - 420 =180

The difference between Texans and Mexicans was 420 - 180 = 240

Answer: 240
