Plz ASAP

If u could not use the ^ symbol when explaining that would be greatly appreciated. It is hard to read what it is sometimes using that symbol :)
I just don’t understand how to solve it, don’t need the answer

forget the numerator of the fraction for now; the x to-the-power -3/6 is equal to x to-the-power -1/2 -- x^(-1/2)

use the rule a^-b= 1/(a^b)

to get: x to-the-power -(-1/2) which = x^1/2
