The Tree of Peace is a symbol of unity among the Five Nations of the Iroquois people and within the Iroquois Constitution represents the strength of the Iroquois nations´ bonds.

According to Iroquois tradition the creator sent a peace maker to stop Iroquois nations from fighting. He found a tree that was so tall it reached the sky. In the shade of this tree the Council Fire of the Confederacy of the Five Nations sit and make sure their unity stands.
