Why did multiculturalism develop as an ideology?​

The first sees ideology as the partisan manipulation of attitudes and beliefs. By this definition multiculturalism is either an ideology of others or, conversely, a device for unmasking the anti-multiculturalist ideology of others. In the second sense, ideology is a complex of alternate understandings of reality.
