There are 9 seniors.

Although there are several ways of solving this problem, I just did what was easiest for me in my head. I divided 36 by 4, which gave me 9.

Answer:

Option A, 9 seniors

Explanation:

A school choir has 36 members.

It is given that there are three times as many underclassmen as seniors.

In other way we can say that there are
(3)/(4) underclassmen and

(1)/(4) are seniors.

Seniors are
(1)/(4) × 36

= 9 seniors.

Option A, 9 seniors
