Johanna ran a mile in physical education class. After resting for one hour, her heart rate were 60 bpm. If her heart rate decreased by 2/5, what was her heart rate immediately after she ran the miles?

60 bpm = 3600 beats per hour

2/5= .4

Her heart rate decreased by .4

This means: 3600 = x * .4

x = 3600/.4

x=9000

Her heart rate was 9000 beats per hour OR

9000bph = 150 bpm
