Traveling with a speed of 70 mph, a car covered a distance D miles in T hours. Write an equation that relates the distance D this car travels in T hours. Use the equation to find the distance the car travels between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m..

Formula D= S * T

Substitute D=70 (Speed) * T

D = 70 *1.5 (time)

Distance = 105

Formula 70T ot T*70

105 miles

Step-by-step explanation

First we need to find the time traveled. I first convert the times into minutes. Use military time if one is am and the other is pm

3:30 - 210 minutes
5:00 - 300 minutes

Now we can subtract the two

300-210= 90

Now we can convert that back into time

1:30

We now know they drove for an hour and 30 minutes, so now lets calculate that.

Knowing that they drove 70mph, that means every hour they drove 70miles. So lets add 70 for every hour

70miles ; 30 minutes

We still have 30 minutes leftover, but we know that 30 minutes is half of an hour. So we can just divide 70 in half.

70÷2= 35

Now we need to add our miles together

70+35= 105miles
