Answer: 1 and 1/2

Explanation:

I used the expression 3/4 over 1 and 1/8 = 1 cup of flour over x amount of salt. So I turned 1 and 1/8 into a mixed number. So I multiplied the denominator by the whole number and added it to the numerator and kept the denominator the same. So I got 9/8—using KCF (keep change flip).

9/8*4/3=36/24 and that as a mixed number is 1 and 12/24 which simplified equals 1 and 1/2

3/4 cup flour 1 cup flour

----------------- = --------------

1 1/8 tsp salt x tsp salt

using cross products

3/4 * x = 1 1/8 * 1

change the mixed number (1 1/8 to an improper fraction = 9/8)

3/4 x =9/8

multiply each side by 4/3

3/4 x * 4/3 = 9/8 * 4/3

x = 36/24

x =3/2

x= 1 1/2 tsp salt
