If M is a midpoint of PQ, then we can use the formula of a midpoint:

\left((x_1+x_2)/(2),\ (y_1+y_2)/(2)\right)

We have the endpoints (-2a, 0) and (0, 2b). Substitute:

(-2a+0)/(2)=(-2a)/(2)=-a\\\\(0+2b)/(2)=(2b)/(2)=b

Answer: M(-a, b)
