Handles-n-Things is a small enterprise company buying new carpet for their office room. The room is 15 ft. wide and 24 ft. long. The carpeting is sold only in square yards. How many square yards of carpeting will they need? Round your answer to the nearest tenth of a square yard? Area of a rectangle = length x width.

18.97^2 because 24× 15= 360 and this in square root is 18.97

You find this by finding the number of yards in 15 feet (15÷3) and that number of yards in 24 feet (24÷3) and multiplying them together. 5X8=40sq yards.
