The stage theories of development is a psychological approach that is used by many developmental psychologists to explain the development of behavior and mind from infancy to elderly. Some notable theories in these fields include Freud’s psychosexual theory of development, Erikson’s psychosocial theory of development, Piaget’s cognitive development theory and Kohlberg’s moral development theory.
All these theories use different approaches in conceptualizing development in humans, but the one thing they all share in common is the belief that (A) a person’s age is good indicator of what period of development one is in.
