A teacher's daily life and routines consist mainly of planning lessons and materials for the class. This task takes long hours usually at home, and many times it includes researching for new materials and innovations to apply in the classroom, most of which involve some kind of cost. After the lesson is prepared, teachers attend classes. Lessons themselves possess a methodology behind, and they are usually divided in separate phases in order to encourage learning. Depending on the teaching environment, apart from the class itself, in which the teacher must put the lesson plan in process and deal with students' behavior, teachers' duties may also combine meetings with headmasters and other teachers, watching students during breaks and organizing students' artistic performances. When lessons are finished, more teachers' responsibilities are correcting students' homework and preparing students' assessments and evaluations.
