A ratio of 2:3 is the same as 2/3 now we can divide out 2/3 to .6666666 and then multiply by 10 to get 6.666666 or you could just multiply 10 x 2/3 to get 20/3 and then divide to get 6.66666.

Greetings!

When dividing a number by a ratio, we first need to find out what a '1' value represents in the ratio. We can do this by adding the ratio together:

2 + 3 = 5

Then, we can divide the amount by this:

10 ÷ 5 = 2

So 1 in the ratio equals 2.

Now we can multiply the two ratios by two to find the amount : amount ratio:

2 x 2 = 4

2 x 3 = 6

So it would be divided into 4:6

Hope this helps!
