The American territorial acquisitions of the 1840s include the Texas Annexation, Oregon Treaty and the Mexican Cession.
Those acquisitions were similar to the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 and the Treaty of Paris in 1783 because Americans wanted to live in this new territories that were occupied by Indians, so the government displaced Indians to give those lands to Americans. In those previous acquisitions the United States government was also forced to remove Native Americans from their lands.
