Yellowcab Taxi charges a $1.75 flat rate in addition to $0.45 per mile. Katie has no more than $12 to spend on a ride. What is maximum miles Katie can travel without exceeding her spending limit?

Can you please show me how to work it out so that i can get the understanding of it.

Yes let’s write an equation
1.75+.46x=$12
-1.75. -1.75
.46x. = $10.25
Divide both sides by .46
X= 22.78
Katie should travel no more than 22miles
