x= 1st number

y = 2nd number

x-y = -3 1st equation

2x +3y = 29 2nd equation

multiply the 1st equation by 3

3x - 3y = -9

add this to the 2nd equation

3x - 3y = -9

2x +3y = 29

------------------

5x = 20

divide each side by 5

5x/5 = 20/5

x =4

x-y = -3

4 -y = -3

subtract 4 from both side

-y = -3-4

-y = 7

divide by -1

y =7

the two numbers are 4 and 7
