Which is the dependent variable and which is the independent variable?

The independent variable is the thing that YOU change purposefully while the independent variable is the thing that changes as a result of the independent variable/the variable that you are measuring...hope this helps ;)

The dependent variable is something that is affected. For example, it would be the height of a plant. An independent variable is something that is changed throughout the experiment and can vary. An example would be sunlight. If the independent variable(IV) is set to some sunlight. The dependent variable would be a medium plant height
