What can be done about pollution? I know what I must do(and will do--to help reduce pollution. Although, the way I see it, there are at least three things we all should do; (1) recycle everything;from cans to your old couch, (2) walk instead of drive whenever possible, and (3) pick up litter wherever you see it. Many people recycle (a practice started almost thirty years ago--but often they don't go far enough. Commonly recycled items include: newspapers, plastic, glass, and cans. Yet much more can be recycled, such as: old clothing, furniture, appliances, and tires. Many places, including retro shops, will buy that old clothing from you. You can make a good bit of money: furthermore, the world becomes a cleaner place. Instead of always driving to the store that's just a mile away, get on your bike or walk(the air and your lungs will thank you for it. When you're out walking, make it a habit to take a little bag with you. Picking up the litter that others have left behind beautifies the environment--moreover, you'll be setting a good example. It's not so hard to reduce pollution--however, we must all do our part.

Answer:

There are many things that can be done about pollution as conserving energy, stopping water pollution and recycling and reusing.

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Conserving energy: It is just to take into account some simple steps like; remember to turn off the lights, computers, and electric appliances when not in use. Also, use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances and participate in your local utility's energy conservation programs.

2) Stopping water pollution: It is important to keep out oils, fat, or grease from the sink, abstain from flushing contaminated liquids, pills, drugs, or medications down the drain, desist from using the toilet as a bin, ensure minimal use of bleach or detergents, reduce the use of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers and finally, proper sewage treatment and management.

3) Recycling and reusing: First, it is important to know the difference between these two terms. Recycling means turning an item into raw materials which can be used again, usually for a completely new product. This is an energy consuming procedure; and reusing means using an object as it is without treatment. This reduces pollution and waste, thus making it a more sustainable process. For recycling, you must recycle glass by separating it from your other rubbish and using your parish glass collection, buy rechargeable batteries rather than disposable, and then recycle them using the recycling bank, recycle plastic bottles - they are made from oil which is a finite, natural resource, instead of throwing unwanted electrical goods away, take them to the household recycling centre where they will be split into their component parts and sent for recycling, recycle into the paper banks (newspapers, magazines, brochures, catalogues, envelopes) and for reusing, you must reuse carrier bags, reuse scrap paper for writing notes, reuse envelopes by sticking labels over the address, donate old computer and audio visual equipment to community groups or schools, buy things in refillable containers eg washing powders, take old clothes and books to charity shops, or have a car boot sale, look for long lasting (and energy efficient) appliances when buying new electrical items, and ensure these are well-maintained to increase product life cycle, use rechargeable batteries - they last for up to 1000 charges and can be recycled afterwards, donate magazines to hospitals and waiting rooms.

Now, If we don't kill Pollution, it will kill us. Millions of animals and people are dying from pollution every year, help stop pollution today because pollution is a huge deal in the environment and the most important is to contribute our grain of sand to make our world a better and safer place.

Good luck!

A few other ways to reduce pollution could be to reduce the use of single-used plastics like water bottles, straws and utensils. To recycle properly, as it helps keeps plastic out of the ocean.

Organizing Cleanup campaigns and spreading the word, for example to help remove plastic from a local beach.

To support bans, or the adoption of them in your community. There's many municipalities where there's plastic bags bans or straw bans for example.

We should avoid products containing microbeads (tiny plastic particles), we can find them on face scrubs, toothpastes and bodywashes.

Lastly, we could definitely support organization that address these situations such as Oceanic Society, 5 Gyres, Algalita, etc

Hope this helps!
