B. Narration
Narration in a composition is characterized for telling a story, which it's filled with enough vivid details to explain, embellish or support the story in order to get the reader involved in it.
The excerpt is a vivid example of that: the author is retailing Lorie Ann Kline's story and her difficulties adapting to the city and high school, and he or she uses enough details (Her background, the interaction between her parents and the guidance counselor, etc.) so we, the readers, can understand what's going on and get involved in it.
