One last reason why the right to a trial by jury is so important is because it is by definition a right guaranteed to all citizens of the United States. The 6th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that we the people have the right to a fair and speedy trial by an impartial jury. This right cannot be denied to us by any means if we are accused of a crime.
