Karl is making a pot of chili. The recipe calls for 3/8

cup of chili powder, but Karl only wants to use half as much so it won’t be so spicy. How much chili powder should Karl use?

(3)/(8) / (2)/(1) \\ = (3)/(8) * (1)/(2) \\ = (3)/(16)
3/16

you set it up as a normal division problem then use KCF

keep the first term the same change the sign to a multiplication and flip the last term and use the inverse

Answer:

He should use
(3)/(16) cups of chili powder.

Explanation:

Given,

The total quantity of chili powder =
(3)/(8) cups,

Also, only half of the chilli powder is used,

So, the used quantity of chilli powder =
(1)/(2)* (3)/(8)

=(3)/(16) ( Multiplication of fractions ),

Hence, he should use
(3)/(16) cup of chili powder.
