Use the distributive property

7g- 63 +12 = 26

subtract 12 from both sides

7g - 63= 14

Add 63 to both sides

7g= 77

divide 7 to both sides

77/7= 11

26= 7(g-9)+12

26-12 = 7(g-9)+12-12

14=7(g-9)

14/7 = 7(g-9)/7

2 = g-9

2+9 = g-9+9

11= g

Check:

26 = 7((11)-9)+12

26 = 7(2)+12

26 = 14+12

26 = 26
