k = - 2

evaluate h(2), equate to 18 and solve for k

h(2) = - 2k + 14 = 18 ( subtract 14 from both sides )

- 2k = 4 ( divide both sides by - 2 )

k = - 2

h(x)= -kx + 14

18 = -k*2 + 14 since x=2

18 = -2k +14

subtract 14 from each side

4 = -2k

divide by -2

-2 =k
