Answer: 2) alterations in plants’ growing seasons

4) extinction of certain species

Climatic change can affect the biodiversity in many ways. The climatic change occurs due phenomena like volcanic eruption, greenhouse effect, global warming all these factors brings changes in the water, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon cycles. All these changes affects the life forms on earth.

2) alterations in plants’ growing seasons: The extreme and prolonged winter or summer season due to climatic change can reduce the chances of appearance of the season in nature which is actually required for the growth of the plants. Hence, this brings alterations in plants’ growing seasons and the diversity of plants which grows in specific season will not grow and this will result in the loss of biodiversity.

4) extinction of certain species: The species of plants and animals which are not able to adapt the extreme climatic conditions do not survive and this results in the mortality of large number of members of such species. Hence, results in the loss of biodiversity.
