Probability of an event is the number of possible outcome divided by the total outcome. It is a ratio. The probability that an event will or will not happen is 1 as those are the only two possibilities.
Hence given that the cube has sides numbered 1 - 6, it means that one side is numbered 1, one side 2, one side 3 and on till 6. Hence only one side is numbered 4.
As such, the probability that the side numbered 4 (Pr4) shows up
= 1/6
with 6 being the total number of outcomes.
