we can either use the substitution method or the addition method I will use substitution

y = x + 3
y=-2x+9
If the left sides are equal then we can write it as x+3= -2x+9

x+3= -2x+9

x+2x= 9 -3
3x = 6
divide both sides by 3
x = 2

now we can put 2 in any of the above two equation and we will get our y

y = x + 3
by putting the value of x
y = 2 + 3


y = 5 so we know the answer is A. (2, 5)
