Answer:

The weight of the person on planet x is 770 pounds.

Explanation:

Given: The ratio of the weight of an object on earth to an object on planet x is

2 to 7.

Also given the weight of the person on earth is 220 pounds.

Ratio states that the relative sizes of two or more values.

i.e, a to b or a: b =
(a)/(b).

Ratio of an object on earth(E) to an object on planet x is :

E : x = 2:7

Let the number be y ,

then ,

The weight of an object on earth (E) is 2y

and the weight of an object on planet x is 7y

Also, it is given that the weight of the person on earth is 220 pounds.

i,e

2y = 220

Divide by 2 both sides we get;

(2y)/(2) =  (220)/(2)

Simplify:

y = 110 pounds.

Then,

the weight of the person on planet x is ; 7y =
7 * 110 =770 pounds
