8 - x/10 = -11

you need to isolate the variable so in order to do that you need to subtract 8 from both sides of the equation as so:

8 - x/10 - 8 = -11 - 8 simplify -x/10 = -19

isolate the variable -10/1 x -x/10 = -19 x -10/1 simplify

x = 190
