Aquifers help citizens of Oklahoma by providing water to areas of the state with little rainfall.
An aquifer is an underground layer of water placed between rocks. Oklahoma counts on a network of aquifers under great portion of the state. This state has six important aquifers which provide water to different areas of it. These include: the Central Oklahoma (Garber-Wellington) Aquifer, the Vamoosa-Ada, Rush Springs, the High Plains Aquifer, Antlers Aquifer, and Elk City Aquifer.
