Refer to the equation 4x – 2y = 12

To make a table we need to solve for y

4x – 2y = 12

Subtract 4x on both sides

-2y = -4x + 12

Now divide the whole equation by -2

y = 2x - 6

Now we assume 4 values for x and find out y to make a table

x y = 2x-6

0 y= 2(0) -6 = -6

1 y= 2(1) -6 = -4

2 y= 2(2) -6 = -2

3 y= 2(3) -6 = 0

We got 4 points (0,-6) (1,-4) (2,-2) and (3,0)

Use the table and graph the line
