In a race, a bicyclist travels 108 miles in 6 hours. What is the unit rate in miles per hour?

for this you just have to divide 108 and 6 to get the unit rate in miled

Here's how you solve it :)

6/108 = 1/x

x(6/108) = (1/x)x

6x/108 = 1

108(6x/108) = (1)108

6x = 108

6x/6 = 108/6

x = 18

The bicyclist travels 18 miles per hour.
