The equation would be y - (-1) = 1/2(x - 1)

Explanation:

In order to find the equation of this line, we have to use the slope formula to find the slope.

m (slope) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m = (2 - -1)/(5 - 1)

m = (2 + 1)/(5 + 1)

m = 3/6

m = 1/2

Now that we have that, we can use it along with the second point to put into the point-slope equation.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - (-1) = 1/2(x - 1)
