The formula of an area of a square with side a:


A=a^2

We have A = 64. Substitute:


a^2=64\to a=√(64)\to a=8

Answer: The length of a side is equal 8 units.

Area of a square = (length of a side)²

64 = x²

√64 = x

8 = x

So the length of a side is 8
