I will use the electronic scale as the correct weight. The percent error is the percent error of the produce department scale.

percent error = (experimental value - correct value)/(correct value) * 100%

percent error = (1.75 - 2)/(2) * 100%

percent error = 0.25/2 * 100

percent error = -12.5%

The reason it is a negative number is that the the produce department scale is a lower value than the real value.

The percent error is 12.5%.
