23-7=16 then 16/4=4 so each puzzle is 4$.

1) Be the number of puzzles 4x , the cost of a book waas $7, for a total cost of $23. if x is the cost of puzzles

then 4x+ 7 = 23⇒4x = 23-7⇒4x= 16⇒x= 16/4 = 4, it means that every puzzles cost $4
